A fantastic, historic specimen of Native copper and Cuprite from Redruth, sadly no mine attributed, as was typical in older collections. This comes from Robert Auguste Touchon who was a french general and mineral collector.
The specimen has bright Cuprite to 4mm and druzy patches of microcrystalline Cuprite.
The native copper is well crystallised all over.
There is a patch of remaining label glue from the old label that was attached to it, this could be removed with isopropyl.
