The LP307 is the top of Latin Percussion's guira line and the one merengue players reach for when the instrument has to cut through a full horn section. It is stainless steel with a 7 inch body, punched to a coarse texture that gives the bright, aggressive rasp merengue is built on rather than the softer sound of a wooden guiro.

Stainless steel is the reason it lasts. A guira takes a metal scraper dragged across it thousands of times a night, and softer metals wear smooth and go quiet. The LP307 keeps its bite, and it does not corrode from the sweat and humidity that come with the gig.

The handle is welded and sits close to the body, so the instrument stays controlled through fast wrist work instead of swinging.
