SCYLLA AND CHARYBDIS Odyssey 2 Oz Silver Coin 2000 Francs Cameroon 2026
This haunting 2 Oz Silver coin is part of the "Odyssey" series, a voyage through myth, danger, and destiny. This edition faces Scylla and Charybdis. Monster and abyss. Teeth and whirlpool. On the reverse, a fragile ship is trapped between the many faces of Scylla and the devouring spiral of Charybdis, while the sea rises in violent waves around it. Struck in Silver with an Antique Finish and enhanced by Digital Printing, the coin turns one of the Odyssey's most terrifying passages into a scene of motion, fear, and impossible choice. Limited mintage of only 333 pieces worldwide! The reverse of this Silver coin captures the deadly passage between Scylla and Charybdis. To the left, the ghostly faces of Scylla emerge from the storm, their blue eyes fixed on the ship. To the right, Charybdis opens as a dark, hypnotic whirlpool, pulling the sea into its center. Between them, a small vessel struggles through violent waves. No escape. Only courage. At the top of the reverse, the inscription: "SCYLLA & CHARYBDIS" – the mythological figures represented on the coin. At the bottom, the inscription: "ODYSSEY" – the epic source of the scene. The Antique Finish gives depth to the sculpted sea and figures, while Digital Printing brings cold blue tones, foaming waves, and dramatic contrast to life. The obverse presents a richly detailed Odyssey-inspired composition. At the center, the Trojan Horse dominates the design, surrounded by multiple narrative panels: female figures, mythical creatures, a ship drawn into a whirlpool, a harp, a one-eyed creature, and a seated woman. At the top, the inscriptions: "REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN" – the issuing country, and "2026" – the year of issue. At the bottom, the inscriptions: "2000 FRANCS CFA" – the face value, and "AG999 2 OZ" – the fineness and weight of the Silver.
