A tiny 2 3/4 inch tall rectangular-shaped clear-glass antique bottle that is RARELY SEEN in this TINY SAMPLE SIZE and has a picture of an owl perched on a crescent moon embossed on it. This is the trade mark of the GILLETT EXTRACT Co. of Chicago. Note last two pictures show the paper label on a full sized Gillett's Extract bottle AND the base embossing of a Gillett's OLIVE bottle. These bottles are just pictured as a reference, to documents the embossing as a Gillett Extract Co. bottle, they are NOT part of this sale. It is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand Blown In Mold bottle (BIM) with a tooled top, dating back to the late 1800 - early 1900 era.

Condition: Bottle is in good solid condition. It has light haze both inside and out, and for the critical eye there is a sliver of glass chipped out of the back edge of it, so small it is hard to tell what it is until you get a magnifying glass. Otherwise the bottle has NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. PLEASE see picture for general idea of bottle's overall appearance.
Age: An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand Blown-In-Mold bottle (BIM) with a tooled-top, ca late 1800s - early 1900's.

A unique antique bottle in this tiny HALF OUNCE SAMPLE size with a GREAT LOOKING PICTURE of the tiny GILLETT COMPANY Trade - Mark, an OWL perched on a crescent MOON on front. This was a sample bottle as we have one with a label on it which says SAMPLE ... 1/2 OZ ... VANILLA EXTRACT etc. You do see these in the regular full sizes, GILLETT HIGH GRADE EXTRACT, which held flavoring extracts and food coloring, that have this same Owl Trade Mark embossed on them. This company started out in 1852 Chicago as the E. W. Gillett Co. and continued into the 1920's as the Sherer-Gillett Company, and after this I lose track of them. They also packaged different spices up in great looking old tins and boxes, with this same owl-on-the-crescent-moon trade mark. This little HALF OUNCE SAMPLE BOTTLE is one of the RAREST of them all. It has a great looking picture of a UNIQUE tiny OWL embossed on it, LOOK at the 2nd picture of the tiny OWL and you'll see what I mean, check it out!
