GAME PLAN
HOW THIS TEAM WORKS
Only one Mega Stone on this team — always Mega Raichu Y if it is in
your 4. Lightning Rod steals Electric moves, including a rain-boosted
Electro Shot. Fake Out plus Sylveon's Pixilate Hyper Voice is the
early damage, and Kingambit's Swords Dance / Sucker Punch is the
late win. Basculegion is the other cleaner. Whimsicott brings
Tailwind and Encore for whenever you need speed, or need to lock
down an opposing Protect.
Note: Garchomp runs Stomping Tantrum instead of
Earthquake specifically so it does not hit your own Sylveon —
don't swap this move.
MATCHUP
HOW TO PICK YOUR 4
Default
Raichu Y + Sylveon, backed by Kingambit + Garchomp.
Need Tailwind or Encore
Raichu Y + Whimsicott, backed by Kingambit + Basculegion.
Vs. Lots of Intimidate
Keep Kingambit in. Defiant turns Incineroar and Mega Staraptor into a free boost.
SCRIPTS
TURN 1 SCRIPTS
Support Script
Mega Raichu Fake Out their fastest attacker or their Rage Powder Pokemon. Sylveon Hyper Voice.
Tailwind Script
Whimsicott Tailwind. Raichu Fake Out or Protect.
Zap Cannon Script
Fake Out one slot so Zap Cannon is a 1v1 into the other. Treat this
as connect-or-miss paralysis, not a guaranteed hit — this set runs
Lightning Rod, not No Guard.
Kingambit Timing
Usually not turn 1. Dance behind Fake Out or Protect, or Sucker Punch if they're attacking.
WIN CONDITIONS
How You Win
| 1 |
Fake Out + Hyper Voice until something is low, then Kingambit, Aqua Jet, or Quick Attack closes.
|
| 2 |
Let them Intimidate. Kingambit gets stronger, then Swords Dance or Sucker Punch.
|
| 3 |
Trade, then Last Respects.
|
CAUTION
WATCH OUT FOR
Ground moves into Raichu: Garchomp or Excadrill Earthquake. Lightning Rod does not block Ground — do not lead Raichu into that.
Fighting is 4x on Kingambit: Sneasler Close Combat, Staraptor Close Combat.
Fake Out blocked (Farigiraf Armor Tail, Psychic Terrain, Ghost Basculegion): do not Fake Out the Ghost — Protect or Zap Cannon instead.
Encore on Zap Cannon or Swords Dance ends the setup.
Source note:
Based on Kardeas, 12–0 at Sitrus-Series #71. The same six later won a
132-player Sitrus cup. ChampTeams moved Mega Raichu Y up its rankings
after it appeared on multiple recent tournament winners.
