Vintage LOFTY Sapporo / Kadota ice axe with a wooden shaft.
The head is marked “LOFTY” and also has a Sapporo maker’s stamp, confirming it as a Japanese classic mountaineering ice axe related to the Sapporo / Kadota style of alpine tools.
This is a long 80cm class ice axe with a traditional wooden shaft. The steel head has an aged patina, and the wooden shaft retains a warm vintage appearance.
It comes with a red leash and a black head cover. The head cover shows noticeable wear and damage.
A previous owner’s name written in marker appears to have been removed, but faint traces may still remain.
According to the original seller, there is no noticeable looseness or wobble.
