An extraordinary sealed example of the 2003 M·A·C Cosmetics × Assouline “Deck of Cards” body-art project, photographed by Richard Lohr.

Conceived by Assouline in collaboration with the M·A·C Creative Team, the deck contains 52 playing cards and two jokers, each featuring a different elaborately body-painted model. International designers, artists, musicians and other cultural figures contributed original concepts, including Alexander McQueen, Diana von Furstenberg, Todd Oldham, Missy Elliott, Pink, Iggy Pop, Susan Sarandon and others.

The project was created as a fundraising venture benefiting the M·A·C AIDS Fund. Its striking imagery was subsequently reproduced in an Assouline art book and exhibited as large-format photographic prints.
