This is a vintage 8,000 RPM Sun Tachometer. This tach is a real deal speed part from the late 60's-early 70's. The model number is ST-602. This tach is for 8 cylinder, 12 volt applications. This is a direct connect tachometer. No sending unit is required. To hook up, you simply need 12 volt switched power, signal from the negative side of the coil, and a ground. You also have the option of hooking the light up to the lamp circuit of the car to the light will dim with the other instruments. This is an awesome true vintage tachometer.
Sun instruments have always been well known for being dependable, accurate, and easy on the eyes. If a fellow hot rodder looked in your car and saw a Sun tach or gauges, he knew you were a force to be reckoned with. This true vintage tach will really give your car the period correct look you have been searching for.
This tach is a real deal period correct unit for your late 60's-early 70's muscle car. A very similar tach was used by American Motors on the Hurst Scrambler Rambler that was nearly identical to this one with a rpm redline printed over the blueline at 5,000 RPM.
This tach is in original unrestored condition as shown. The face is bright and chrisp with awesome graphics. The lens is real glass with no cracks or scratching and some debris and fogginess on the inside as shown. It would look even better with the inside of the lens cleaned. The front bezel has great shine/reflection and no pitting. The bezel has one split on the lower edge at about the 6 o clock position that should not be seen when installed due to its location. There is no mounting cup included and I do have the proper NC-4 cup listed in my other listings. This tach has been tested and works flawlessly throughout the RPM band with no sticking or hesitation.
