Vintage Hungarian Matyo Embroidery Floral Folk Art Fringed Table Runner Scarf
This vintage Hungarian Matyo embroidery floral folk art fringed table runner scarf dates from the 1950s. It is made of a black linen fabric background covered with vibrant bright colorful silk thread raised padded satin stitch traditional Hungarian Matyo embroidery work hand done in dense floral vine leaf "Matyo rose" design. This traditional Hungarian Matyo embroidered folk art textile has a long rectangle shape with hand knotted blue and varying shades of red silk fringe trim edgings, is reversible and could be used as a table runner or scarf. The cloth measures 50 inches long, 12 inches wide and has an additional 6 inch long fringe trim surrounding it. It is in excellent condition. This is a truly a wonderful piece of traditional Hungarian Matyo embroidery folk art!
