This is an extraordinary, highly complete antique late-Victorian to early-Edwardian era multi-trip railroad passenger transit ticket issued by the historic New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad Company (NYNH&H) for their local Massachusetts commuter corridors. This remarkably rare piece of New England transportation ephemera documents the early transit infrastructure of Norfolk and Suffolk counties, explicitly detailing a commuter routing valid for "Five continuous passages in either direction between BOSTON and MILTON (BR.) AND (M.L.) or intermediate stations on Milton Branch." This localized neighborhood directory holds immense historical significance; the Milton Branch represented a vital commuter loop that shuttled daily suburban workers straight into downtown Boston.

The front of the ticket showcases breathtakingly intricate, fine-line typography and detailed border scrollwork characteristic of high-security transport printing from the turn of the 20th century. Prominently displayed across the face is the printed signature of General Passenger Agent A.B. Smith (who served from 1908–1914) alongside the bold red serial number 12467 on both the primary coupon and the attached lower voucher block bearing the warning "Worthless if detached." Highlighting its spectacular authenticity, the right-hand trip matrix features a single, clean circular conductor's punch mark straight through the number "1," proving its historical use for its first commuter leg while leaving remaining trips 2, 3, and 4 completely un-cancelled. The reverse side features a beautifully preserved, weathered purple rectangular agent dater stamp reading "THE BOSTON / TERMINAL CO. / SOUTH STATION" alongside a "MAY 20" dispatch date. The market valuation of $24.99 is established based on the premium intact, two-panel structural state, the highly clear Boston South Station back-stamp, and the unique single-punch operational character that enhances its historical story for advanced collectors.
