IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
This board is being sold strictly AS-IS / FOR PARTS OR REPAIR and is completely untested.
The original barrel-style CMOS battery has been removed after having leaked. Visible reddish-brown/dark residue remains around the former battery area on the front of the board, including around the “P8 BATTERY” / “BT1” area. Greasy residue is also present on the underside of the PCB and was noticeable to the touch during inspection.
Visible oxidation/corrosion is present on some nearby component pins and solder joints in the affected area. Because of the battery leakage and visible residue/corrosion, the board should be considered a restoration/repair project and should not be assumed functional or powered on without appropriate inspection and cleanup by a qualified vintage-hardware technician.
The original battery is no longer installed. No claim is being made that the board is functional or that all traces/components remain electrically sound. Please study all photographs carefully; the photographs document the exact condition of the board, including the affected areas.
ITEM SOURCE / PROVENANCE:
This item comes from the remaining inventory of ABC Resellers, a Texas computer sales and repair business established and operated by my late father from the late 1980s through approximately 2015.
What began as a home-based business grew into a professional computer sales and service operation specializing in vintage computer systems, legacy hardware, components, software, networking equipment, restoration, repairs, and technical support. My father spent decades working with and supporting computer technology, helping customers maintain older systems and sourcing hard-to-find legacy parts after many of these technologies were no longer readily available.
The inventory from ABC Resellers was accumulated through many years of that work and represents a unique collection of vintage technology spanning generations of personal computing. This inventory is now being carefully photographed, documented, and individually liquidated as part of the estate process. The quantity and duplication of certain items strongly suggest that portions of the inventory may have been acquired through business liquidations, company closures, or smaller industry sources over the years. However, the specific acquisition history of this individual item is not known, so no particular acquisition source is being represented as fact.
Please review all photographs carefully. The photographs document the exact board, included Ramtron module, packaging, labels, and visible battery-related damage.
Original manuals, accessories, or additional documentation are not included unless specifically described or pictured.
