This is a vintage cast metal registry device labeled "No. 102 SH" and has a number of 42661. There is a counter that works on the side that reads above it: LID COUNTER.

It features prominent "Read Here" instructions above slots and a "Lid Counter" on the right side.

The item has a textured, aged finish with ornate scrollwork surrounding the identification plate.

I have NO IDEA what this was for. Look at the photos carefully for your own decision. The counter still works when you move the lever behind it. You will notice damage to the upper right and there is a crack in the center and some roughness. It needs a good cleaning for display. 

I am selling this AS IS. I will add to this description if anyone tells me the purpose of this item.

Included in the shipping portion is a reasonable handling fee that covers the cost to adequately package the item to insure its safe arrival through the post office, Fed Ex or UPS.

SALES TAX: Ebay will charge accordingly for your own state as to the rate of Sales Tax.

It should be the same for the seller as some buyers are not reasonable.  In the case of a "non-pay", I can cancel the sale but there is no information on the non-payer's Feedback to alert other sellers that this buyer did not follow through on the sale.
