Vintage TEKNA Ocean Edge T-2200 fixed-blade dive knife, made in Japan.

This is the early Japanese version of TEKNA’s distinctive skeletonized dive knife, a design associated with Japanese knifemaker Ichiro Hattori. The knife has a solid stainless-steel construction with five large circular handle cutouts, pointed double-edge blade, serrations, integral guards and the original black TEKNA molded sheath.

The early Ocean Edge measured approximately 7.5 inches overall with a 3.5-inch blade and was marketed primarily as a compact scuba/diving knife. 

Origins: This legendary skeletonized knife was designed by Japanese Master Bladesmith Ichiro Hattori in Seki, Japan. It was distributed by TEKNA out of Redwood City, California starting in the early 1980s.

Design Elements: It features a solid, one-piece billet "skeleton" handle layout designed to reduce weight underwater. The symmetrical dagger-style blade features unique, fine serrations along the bottom half of the cutting edge to effortlessly saw through tough fishing nets or marine rope

.Materials:  crafted from premium Japanese Stainless Steel (typically highly corrosion-resistant 420j2 chromium steel). 

The accompanying black Cycolac ABS plastic sheath uses a spring-loaded quick-thumb release button, making it an iconic piece of dive and outdoor survival gear highly popular for boot or leg mounting.
