Precious antique (19th century) treasure .. handmade Irish Carrickmacross lace cap, with lappets. Tambour embroidered floral motifs, on delicate net, with batiste appliques. The cap is apx 13" X 13", overall; double scalloped ruffle around the back of the cap; the lappets are apx 18" long and 4" wide at the bottom. From a large estate collection, with provenance, and family note regarding its making. A couple small holes in the net background; otherwise very good, well-preserved condition.
