Victorian White Linen Embroidered Lace Trim Chemise Smock Summer Nightgown
This antique Victorian era white linen embroidered lace trim chemise smock summer nightgown dates from 1900. It is made of a fine quality plain weave white Irish linen fabric with raised padded satin stitch hand embroidered monogrammed initials C.E. with floral decorative designs on the front yoke top and scalloped crochet lace trim edging the neckline and sleeve cuffs. This charming chemise smock summer nightgown has a long tea length loose fitting over the head style with mother of pearl button closures on the front neckline, short sleeves and is unlined. The dress measures 47 inches long, with a 46 inch chest, 56 inch waist, 56 inch hips and a 16 inch back. It is in good clean condition, with only a few tiny pin holes. This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana wearable art!
