1890's People's H. S. Knitting Machine?  I cannot find much information on this machine. I did find a knitting machine advertisement in Richard Candee's book, page 190.  I believe this machine is the same as the one in the ad due to the counterweight on the crank handle. The People's High Speed Knitting Machine was patented by J. E. Gearhart & Sons, or T. E. Gearhart.
There are 3 small parts that were in the box (last picture).  I do not know where they belong.  Maybe someone else can figure this one out.

This would be a BEAUTIFUL addition to your collection.

This little machine is a rare find and would be a wonderful addition to your personal CSM museum.  You may be able to knit socks on it.  I have never tried.  It would not be as easy as a modern machine.
