Vintage Sony M-205 2-Speed Microcassette Recorder with Original Accessories

Vintage Sony M-205 microcassette recorder, made in Japan, supplied with a very good selection of original accessories.

The recorder is in very good cosmetic condition for its age, with a clean silver finish and only light signs of previous storage and use. Please examine all photographs carefully for the exact cosmetic condition.

Important condition information:

The recorder is not fully working.

When switched on, power reaches the unit and a motor or mechanical humming sound can be heard. However, the cassette mechanism does not operate correctly and the tape does not play, rewind or fast-forward as expected.

The exact cause of the fault is unknown. It may require a new drive belt or other internal repair, but the unit has not been opened or professionally inspected. It is therefore being sold strictly for parts or repair, with no guarantee of full functionality.

This is an attractive and unusually complete vintage Sony set, suitable for a collector, display, restoration project or source of parts.

Please note again that the recorder is faulty and not working correctly. It produces a humming/mechanical sound when powered, but the cassette transport does not function properly.
