Photographer: Unknown Title: Lunnel O’Brien Date: c1870s Medium: Albumen Print on printed Cabinet Card Size of Image: na Size of Mount: 6 ½ x 4 ¼ inches Condition: Medium tonal image with light highlights, sharp image, two light scuff marks across left side, light soiling to mount front, light stain on back. Other: Interesting early portrait of a gentleman with his scruffy beard. This image reveals a trimmed out carte de visite re-photographed like a still life and presented as a cabinet card. The original cdv was shot with an older lens that produces the “large hands” distortion that eventually disappeared as proper lenses were introduced.
