This highly detailed N scale model recreates the original TGV Sud-Est, the pioneering French high-speed train introduced for services on the LGV Sud-Est route between Paris and Lyon.

The TGV Sud-Est entered high-speed service in 1981 and became internationally famous for its distinctive streamlined shape and vivid orange livery. It was one of the fastest passenger trains in the world during the early development of European high-speed rail.

This model represents SNCF Set No. 84 โ€œDIEPPEโ€ in its mid-1980s appearance, after the intermediate cars were upgraded with air-suspension bogies and before the front SNCF markings were removed.

The set accurately reproduces the distinctive orange, gray and white body colors, streamlined power-car noses, articulated passenger cars and complex AC pantograph arrangement.

A flywheel-equipped GM-5 motor provides smooth operation. The leading power cars feature functional warm white LED headlights and red taillights.

The removable front coupling covers and included drawbar allow realistic multiple-unit operation with another compatible TGV Sud-Est set.
