Background information

The Ju 290 originally evolved from the Ju 90 civil passenger aircraft, but was quickly adapted for military purposes. Their main task was long-range reconnaissance over the Atlantic to detect Allied convoys and bring in German submarines. Due to its enormous range and strong defensive armament, it was a feared enemy among the Allies and was called the “Sea Eagle”. It is also interesting that a modified Ju 290 was intended as a personal transport aircraft for Adolf Hitler ("Führer machine"), which underlines the reliability and performance of this design. With this kit you have an aircraft in your hands that marked the technological pinnacle of German long-range piston engine bombers.
