Offered is a pair of vintage and original pieces from Belmont Park racetrack, Elmont, NY Sept. 25, 1948 🏇 [Please see pictures.] (1.) Grandstand admission ticket (partial)...(2.) Betting slip for race 4...On that day, The Belmont Futurity Stakes (first held 1888) was won by Blue Peter (see newsclip) sired by War Admiral (Triple Crown/HOF) and grandsire Man o' War (HOF). Blue Peter's record in '48 was 8-0-2 in 10 races and he was the American Champion Two-Year-Old Colt. Sadly, he did not race after that year and died of illness at age 4. Both offered pieces are in good, used condition with some minor creasing; no serious flaws. The betting slip is for the fourth race; the Futurity was race 5 that day. I am extra pleased to offer these two items since the rebuilt Belmont Park race track is officially scheduled to re-open this Sept. 18 and the Futurity is scheduled for Oct. 3. How cool is that?!
