2026 D 25C DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE NGC MS66 STRUCK THRU MINT ERROR QUARTER - FIRST RELEASES
Offered here is the exact 2026-D Declaration of Independence Quarter pictured, certified by NGC as Mint Error MS 66 — Obverse Struck Thru and carrying the desirable First Releases designation.
This one-year Semiquincentennial issue commemorates the 250th anniversary of the United States. The obverse features Thomas Jefferson with the dual date 1776–2026, while the reverse depicts the Liberty Bell ringing. The regular Denver business strike carries the D mint mark and does not have a privy mark.
A struck-through error occurs when foreign material comes between the die and planchet during striking, leaving an impression or area of interrupted detail on the finished coin. NGC notes that extremely minor struck-throughs generally do not receive a Mint Error notation, making the attribution printed on this holder an important part of the coin’s collectibility.
This coin combines a high-end Mint State grade, a professionally recognized minting error, a first-release designation and a one-year historic design. It would make an excellent addition to a modern mint-error collection, Semiquincentennial set, certified-quarter collection or America 250 display.
