This vintage 1930s Paper Mache Santa Claus candy container is a charming holiday collectible. It is made of paper mache or molded paper pulp around 1935. The base is a painted red chimney. He measures 8.75" tall and 5" wide at the base. This was most likely made in Japan or Germany, as these were common sources for early paper mache holiday items. Handmade with a hand painted design, this candy container captures the nostalgia of Christmas during the 1930s.
It is in extremely good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or any other damage. The coloring is good. There are no breaks in the paper mache. On the bottom it looks like there are chips but it is actually white paint as the bottom was painted white.
Don't miss out on acquiring a rare vintage Santa Claus candy container! I'm sure these didn't survive very long once the candy was gone. It is a rare and delightful addition to any collection of holiday memorabilia.
