A beautiful vintage Italian Sorrento inlaid musical chess table, dating from the mid to late 20th century (circa 1950s–1970s). Crafted in the renowned Sorrento Ware style from the Campania region of Italy, this elegant piece showcases traditional wood marquetry with an attractive inlaid chessboard top and graceful Queen Anne style cabriole legs.

The hinged top opens to reveal divided storage compartments, making it ideal as a sewing table, jewellery box, games table or occasional side table. Beneath the storage section sits the original mechanical music box.

The music box is not currently working and will require removal and cleaning or restoration, as the mechanism shows signs of age and surface rust. The table itself remains an attractive decorative piece with excellent storage and classic Italian craftsmanship.
