For sale is a very nice and highly ornate silver and gold fob medal that is 5.2cms x 3.3cms including the suspension loop, the top has G.I.O.L.C.C. which is the GRAND INDEPENDENT ORDER OF CALEDONIAN CORKS. BURTON DISTRICT 1917, the back is engraved BRO. E. T. WALLIS. LODGE 551, fully hallmarked for BIRMINGHAM 1917, makers mark for VAUGHTON & SONS, quite heavy at 18.4g, and is in very good uncleaned original condition.
This Order was established 1884 in Birmingham as an independent Friendly, Sick & Dividend Society, the reference to Corks was to show that it will never sink.
