Japanese Black Lacquer Ware Plate, (Antique or Vintage), some wear

I have been told this is antique but I have no provenance or history on it so unable to confirm.

It is lightweight so probably papier mache. Traditional Japanese scene, black laquer with gold and red design, faces and hands are highlighted in white.

Scalloped edge, pedestal foot at base and tape shown for scale.

It is worn and definitely needs a clean but I am not attempting to clean it in case I damage it.

Not my area of expertise so I will leave it to buyers to determine age etc.
