Casio Watch 50th Anniversary Casio Ring Watch CRW-001-1JR JDM From Japan

Description

Condition: New

Introducing Casio’s first-ever ring watch. Through the development of an ultra-compact module and advanced metal-forming technology, we have created a new style of digital watch that blends practicality with a playful spirit.

To achieve the intricate shaping characteristic of Casio watches within a ring-sized, full-metal design, we employed Metal Injection Molding (MIM) technology.

The case, case back, and ring band are molded as a single, integrated unit, with details as fine as the band holes faithfully reproduced.

Furthermore, advanced glass-bonding technology ensures airtight integrity, providing water resistance suitable for daily use while maintaining a structure that allows for battery replacement.

The ring size is a Japanese size 22 (US: 10.5 / EU: U), featuring an inner diameter of 20mm and an inner circumference of 62.8mm. Spacers are included to adjust the fit for sizes 19 (19mm inner diameter) and 16 (18mm inner diameter).

The module has been downsized to approximately one-tenth the size of a standard wristwatch module.

By combining this with a compact button battery, we successfully created a digital watch equipped with three buttons—all within the confines of a ring.

It also features a 7-segment LCD display, showing not only hours, minutes, and seconds but also the date, dual time, and stopwatch functions.

When the time-flashing light function is activated, the display gently flashes at set times and on the hour, evocatively capturing the sparkling nature of passing time.

The special packaging includes an original drawstring pouch.

The "Yubiwa Pipe" (Ring Pipe): Casio’s Origin Story

Casio continues to create numerous "world-first" products through originality and innovation.

It all began with the "Yubiwa Pipe" (Ring Pipe), developed at Kashio Seisakusho—the predecessor to Casio Computer Co., Ltd. It was released in 1946, shortly after the war.

Despite the scarcity of materials at the time, it became a massive hit.

The profits generated by the Yubiwa Pipe provided the capital that would later fund the development of Casio’s calculators.

This new Casio ring watch carries on that legacy, once again adopting the ring style. It embodies Casio's founding spirit of creating new value through unique ideas and technology.
