Up for sale is a beautiful pair of mid-century American Optical rimless

eyeglasses. Featuring iconic cable temples and a stunning gold-filled finish,

this classic pair is a fantastic addition to any vintage eyewear collection

or ready for restoration with modern prescription lenses.

Item Details & Specifications:

Brand: American Optical (AO)

Era: 1930s- 1940s

Frame Style: Rimless Ful-Vue / Rimway with flexible wire cable temples

Markings: Clearly stamped "AO 1/10 12K GF" on the underside of the nose bridge (see photos).

Composition: 12-Karat Gold-Filled metal construction

Case:Includes a vintage slim, brown faux-leather snap case.

Condition Report:

Metalwork: Overall excellent structural condition. There is expected minor age-related verdigris (green/dark oxidation) buildup on parts of the cable temples and joints, which can be easily cleaned.

Lenses:  Lenses are currently installed. They have some signs of wear and age. Sold as-is, assuming the buyer will replace them with custom prescription or sunglass lenses.

Hardware: Hinge mechanisms and screws are present. Nose pads show some vintage yellowing consistent with age.
