This rare and beautiful pair of Italian 19th century scissors features scrolls and birds on the shanks and finger bows. The asymmetric designs vary slightly and have delicate sculptural designs.
Bartolomeo Terzano was a renowned 19th-century artisan and chisel-maker based in Campobasso, Italy, famous for his exquisite, handcrafted steel embroidery and "lace" scissors. His pieces are highly collectible, distinguished by ornate handles featuring motifs like birds and foliage, and are marked with his initials "BT" on the hinge.
The pivot screw joint is tight so they cut well. If you collect either antique sewing items or scissors in particular, these scissors will make a wonderful addition to your collection.
