Cascade Fountain Pen

This is an EXCEPTIONAL new-old-stock Cascade fountain pen.  Here are the facts about this pen:

  • Condition:  Cascade was a house brand for the Rexall Drug Store chain. Their house brand pens were made by various manufacturers and it's not totally clear who made this particular pen, but Eagle Pen Co. is a very solid guess as Eagle did make many of the pens for Rexall and this pen has many of the attributes of an Eagle of the era.  The color of this pen is absolutely outstanding.  This unused new-old-stock pen is an amazing survivor. This pen came out of old inventory of Hilton Pharmacy which was a Rexall Drug Store in Socorro, NM.  This pen was never inked until I tested it to be sure the sac is good and it writes well.  The pen is essentially in mint condition with just very light patina on the gold trim from age and many years in storage.  Flawless two-tone nib.  The pen has a good sac and fills and writes wonderful!
  • Here is a little more very interesting history:  Hilton Pharmacy began in 1898.  In 1940 Mrs. Hilton was the subject of an article in National Pharmacy Magazine and at the time she was the oldest licensed pharmacist in the United States. She did not retire to a few years before her death in 1961. The Hilton Pharmacy family is related to Conrad Hilton who started the Hilton hotel chain and of course that means they are also related to Paris Hilton. For better or worse.
