1933 Press Photo Diagram by A. W. Robertson to speed traffic on two lane traffic
Plan devised by A. W. Robertson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to speed traffic on two-lane highways where it would not be profitable to widen the road its entire length. He suggests that every few miles a short spurway be constructed, and slow-moving vehicles ordered to move into the by-passes. Any fast cars they were holding up would be ahead of them before the emerged from the by-pass. Photo measures 9 x 7 inches. Photo Is dated 1933.
