• For sale is an authentic vintage Japanese bronze flower vase masterfully crafted by the renowned legendary Nitten artisan metalsmith Hasegawa Gasen (1901-1994), a renowned master of Yamagata Casting in Japan.  Hasegawa Gasen has won numerous prestigious prizes at national exhibitions throughout his career.
    • This piece is a stunning example of Yamagata Imono, a registered national traditional craft of Japan with over 900 years of history.  It features the highly prized Murashido (mottled bronze) technique.  This sophisticated patination process brings out a one-of-a-kind, fiery mottled red and golden pattern on the bronze surface, showcasing the artist's incredible control over fire and metal.
    The vase is minimalist yet its warm design fits perfectly in both traditional and modern interiors.  It features a gorgeous, minimalist silhouette with a refined neck, perfect for both upscale Ikebana display and high-end collections.
    "Gasen" (้›…ไป™) is marked on the bottom with his special Nitten artisan seal.  The Nitten is the most prestigious art organization in Japan, and only the best artisans from all over Japan participate in its annual exhibitions.
    The vase is in good-very good overall vintage condition, and it has a natural aged patina.  It is about 19cm (7 1/2") high, 10cm (almost 4") in diameter, 2cm (3/4") across the rim and weighs 1200 grams.  There may be a small nick(s), minor mark(s), patina wear (bottom), dust, etc.  No really noticeable damage.  Please refer to the photographs to determine the overall condition and the quality of the bronze work, patina, shape, size, etc.
