For sale is an extremely rare and unique Japanese traditional folk art piece of the Noh Koomote mask with a hidden secret hand painted and hand carved Shunga (erotic figures) signed by the artisan Naomitsu.  The back panel is carved with the artist's name "直光" (Naomitsu). 

■ Description
This is a vintage Japanese hand-carved wooden Noh mask featuring a secret hidden compartment.  It is a masterfully crafted item, highly collectible and rare to find in such beautiful condition.  The front displays a
beautifully handcrafted traditional Japanese Noh Koomote mask.  When you slide the back panel, it reveals an intricately detailed, hand-painted Shunga (traditional Japanese erotic art) wood carving inside.

■ Condition
The Koomote mask and Shunga are in good overall vintage condition.  The mask has a beautiful wood grain and natural aging.  There are some small nicks, marks, a minor scuff(s), wear, dust, etc.  Please refer to the photographs to determine the overall condition and the quality of the woodwork, artwork, design, size, etc.  The mask and sliding backboard are taut so please slide the backboard slowly and carefully.
