On offer, we have a restrike etching by American western artist Edward Borein. Borein (1872-1945) was an award winning artist famous for his depictions of Spanish Colonial California, The Old West, and Mexico. He was a much loved resident of Santa Barbara, Ca..
"Chasing A Stray" shows the cowboy riding hard after the stray steer. Interesting, is the riderless horse in the herd. This is on thick white BFK Rives French paper. This measures 11" X 15" with the image 7" X 11". My understanding is that a restrike is printed from the original copper plate, but not from the first printing; possibly made posthumously.
This print in pristine condition. The etching has a deep imprint and is bold, clean and clear. It has been handled and has a few light wrinkles in the margins. As I am not an expert on art, please view my photographs for more description.
My elegant friend is moving to a much smaller home and parting with some of her treasures. You may enjoy viewing her other Edward Borein prints I have on separate listings at this time.
I will be happy to answer any questions and, of course, combine your shipping.
