Used Ridgid No 40 tubing cutter with heavy shop wear. Yellow finish shows extensive paint loss, scratches, and embedded grime, with exposed metal darkened from oxidation. Cutting wheel, rollers, and feed screw have discoloration. Black residue present on one side of the frame. Frame shows no cracks or repairs; knob, screw, and cutter wheel are present;

Description

Vintage Ridgid No. 40 C-frame tubing cutter for large-diameter metal tubing and pipe.

One side of the frame is cast with raised markings "RIDGID NO 40 2 TO 4 TUBING" identifying the model and capacity range.

The opposite side is cast "THE RIDGE TOOL CO ELYRIA OHIO U.S.A. PATENTED" with the Ridgid name and location, and the sliding carriage carries the Ridgid logo.

Construction features a heavy cast metal C-frame body with yellow painted finish, a steel guide bar and sliding carriage, and a robust cutter head.

Cutter head includes a single steel cutting wheel at the nose and opposing roller support at the lower arm to cradle the tubing during cutting.

The feed mechanism uses a large threaded screw with an oversized knurled metal hand knob for controlled advance of the cutting wheel onto the workpiece.

Designed for cutting 2 to 4 size tubing as indicated by the frame markings, suitable for plumbing, mechanical, and industrial fabrication applications.
