Authentic, original 19th-century Union patriotic song sheet broadside titled "Billy Wilson's Zouaves." The lyrics are dedicated to the famous 6th New York Volunteer Infantry, a notoriously rugged regiment composed primarily of New York City laborers and street fighters who wore the iconic French-inspired Zouave uniforms. The lyrics are set to the air of "The Plains of Mexico."

The broadside features a highly detailed woodcut border iconic to publisher H. De Marsan, showcasing a patriotic eagle shield, flag curtains, and historical soldiers standing guard at the bottom corners.

With full, un-trimmed margins measuring 6" x 8-1/4".
Vibrant period hand-coloring (red and blue) on the flag borders.
Exhibits expected light age-toning/browning along the edges and minimal wrinkling consistent with 19th-century paper.
