This Victorian era antique handmade cream silk Maltese bobbin lace shawl collar trim dates from the late 19th century. It is made of a handmade off white ivory cream color silk thread Maltese bobbin lace, with small flat leaves, wheat ears giving it a three dimensional character, Maltese crosses distinguished from the island of Malta, Bedfordshire squared ended tallies, trails of half stitch and plaited bars with picots. This lovely lace large shawl collar dress trim has a scalloped border trim edging and is sheer, unlined. The collar measures 18 inches around the inside neck, 52 inches around the outside edging and is 8 inches wide. It is in good condition. This is truly an exquisite piece of handmade antique Victoriana Maltese bobbin lace wearable art!
