Truly stunning 40s/50s vintage dress, an Original from designer Lilli Ann of San Francisco. No size or fabic tag, please check measurements below, waist will likely be determinative. Black crepe fabric has structure to it, best guess is a wool or rayon type blend. Wide scooped neckline and cuffs are embellished with salmon folded satin and a champagne gold trim. Additional black satin detail follows along a bit below or above, with the neckline having a tied bow and rhinestone button-brooch. Back zipper, zippers at each sleeve. Front and back darts, front pleats below the waist seam, hip pockets, back folded kick pleat, two elbow pleats. Handmade, clipped seams, cut with pinking shears. Fabric is in great shape, but a few minor blemishes that can be addressed if desired. 1) Two rhinestones missing from the brooch (closeup photo 12). Not too noticeable, could be replaced or the entire button-brooch replaced. 2) The back zipper seems to have been caught in the zipper selvedge. It does not affect the look from the outside but the zipper will not open beyond that point. (See photos 21 through 24). A more talented seamstress than I would need to find and remove any remnant in the teeth to free the zipper. 3) The bottom of each side seam threaded belt loop is detached. Review all photos to fully appreciate.
