Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic pair of mid-century vintage porcelain salt and pepper shakers decorated by the prestigious J.H. Stouffer Company of Chicago. This matching set features a classic square-bodied silhouette crafted from fine white European porcelain blanks, hand-gilded with brilliant, heavy gold encrusted dome tops.

Each shaker features a striking, hand-applied gold foil monogram initial “J” in a traditional Gothic / Old English script typeface.

Markings & Authenticity:

The underside of the base features the highly desirable, original black ink stamp reading "STOUFFER'S" along the unglazed bottom foot rim, dating this set precisely to the 1930s–1940s production era. This stamp is readable on one shaker and mostly worn off on the other.

Condition:

• Excellent Vintage Condition: The white porcelain bodies are free of chips, cracks, or flea bites.

• Gilding: The heavy gold leaf on the dome tops and the monogram lettering remains vibrant with beautiful luster.

• Note: The bottom unglazed rims show minor authentic age-related shelf wear/grime as expected with pieces of this era. Shakers are missing the original bottom cork stoppers, which have been replaced with new modern white plastic stoppers.
