The "Shasta Route" was a rail line operated by the Southern Pacific Railroad from Portland, Oregon to San Franciscos. It was one of the more popular ways to travel along the Pacific Coast.
For auction is a brochure on this train. Dated November 1938, It lists all trains by run number, with arrival/departure times for stations served. There are also train schedules for the "Coast Line" between San Francisco and Los Angeles and the "San Joaquin Valley Line" which used another route between San Francisco and Los Angeles. The brochure has an equipment manifest and a map showing these lines.
This brochure measures appx 8x4 inches unopened and opens to appx 20x8 inches; it is printed on both sides. The timetable, printed on thin paper stock, It is in excellent condition, with no writing or markings; there are twp small fold-line teas (1/8th inch).
