The National Railways of Mexico (NdM), in Spanish "Ferrocarril Nacional de México", was one of the primary pre-nationalization railways of Mexico. Incorporated in Colorado in 1880 as the Mexican National Railway and at first affiliated with the Denver & Rio Grande Railway, it completed a narrow-gauge main line from Mexico City to Laredo in September 1888. The company was reincorporated again in Utah in 1902 as the National Railroad of Mexico, and completed a standard-gauge main line in 1903. The NdM subsequently acquired three narrow gauge companies in central Mexico. Following privatization in the 1990s, the NdM formed the majority of  "Transportacion Ferroviaria Mexicana", now the Kansas City Southern de Mexico.

For auction is a passenger train timetable from the NdM for Fall-Winter 1962. It has listings for all NdM trains. Listings are by run number, with arrival/departure times for stations served. Some trains are pure passenger runs, while some are mixed passenger/freight, and listings are for main-line operations as well as local branch lines. The NdM operated trains to/from US cities with through-cars with both the Missouri Pacific and Southern Pacific railroads, and these listings are included also; listings for primary trains include equipment manifests. This publication includes fares for both coach and Pullman services and a map of the NdM trackage. 

The timetable also contains tourist information, to include a map of Mexico City noting major attractions. There are side trips to take from Mexico City. There is general information about travel to and within Mexico, as well as useful phrases in Spanish. All writing in the timetable is in English.

The timetable measures appx 9x4 inches closed, 9x8 inches opened, and contains 23 pages. It is printed on thick paperstock. Even considering that this item is over 50 years old, it is in very good condition and shows only moderate wear. There are no rips or tears, and the binding is secure with all pages firmly in place. The cover has a date rubber-stamped on the front, along with a NdM office address in El Paso (TX). The number/letter "270d" are written on the top margin of the back cover, but there are no other markings or writing. The cover shows minor soiling, but the content pages do not.
