Originally intended as “real money”. Many were circulated for this purpose.  Minted in proof quality…double struck on polished planchets.  Norfed operated from 1998 to 2013 but was eventually shut down by the federal government.  This is a pristine example, never circulated, of the attempt to re-introduce real money to the US. COLLECTOR QUALITY, preserved in a plastic airtite capsule.

While most Liberty Dollars were minted at Sunshine Mint, this batch was not.  After the raid production was greatly scaled back and orders went to alternative mints. Quality was still good but not up to the standard of Sunshine Mint.

These are quite rare now and I have only a very few left. I am old and in declining  health so it is time to distribute them to collectors  who appreciate the concept and want to capitalize on their future increase in value.

I operated the “regional currency office” (RCO) in New Hampshire for the Liberty Dollar organization.    This piece is as fresh as can be, since I moved it from the bulk packaging directly to an airtite capsule using white cotton gloves.

Pure silver tarnishes easily.  Most of the offerings you will see are “toned”.  This one is bright and fresh, and the capsule will help keep it that way.
