A superb and rare photo of the famous 500cc Moto Guzzi Bicilindrica “ V-twin ” worksracer and the equally famous Omobono Tenni, just after the win of the 500cc race at Riccione in Italy on the 24^th of September 1945. Tenni would win the race on the photographed machine!

The Bicilindrica twin cylinder racing bike was one of Guzzi’s most famous and longest running 500cc racing models. It was originally designed by Carlo Guzzi in 1933, with help in the chassis department of his brother Giuseppe Guzzi when it received a fully sprung frame in 1935.

Omobono Tenni needs no further introduction. He was one of the best pre war and early post war motorcycle racers. His career ended tragically when he died while practicing for the 1948 Swiss Grand Prix. Omobono Tenni had many nicknames, “the black devil” being perhaps the most famous one, and was known for his spectacularly fast riding style. He was unbeatable when he was in form!
