A newly developed back-illuminated 24.2MP Exmor R™ CMOS sensor paired with the latest BIONZ X™ image processor and front-end LSI delivers significantly enhanced readout and processing speeds. Image data is handled at twice the readout speed and 1.8× the processing capacity of previous generations, ensuring outstanding clarity and responsiveness.

With an improved back-illuminated structure, Detail Reproduction technology, and Area-specific Noise Reduction, the α7 III achieves up to a 1.5-stop improvement in image quality. The standard ISO range extends from ISO 100–51200 (expandable to ISO 50–204800 for stills), enabling clean, detailed images even at high sensitivity.

Exceptional Dynamic Range & Color Accuracy

Capture subtle gradations from deep shadows to bright highlights with an impressive dynamic range of up to 15 stops at low ISO settings. Color reproduction has also been refined for more natural, true-to-life tones--particularly noticeable in skin tones, skies, and vividly colored subjects.

For maximum tonal detail and smoother gradation, the α7 III processes signals in 16-bit form and supports 14-bit RAW output--even during silent shooting or continuous bursts.
