The E-4000 is a complete redesign of the E-480, utilizing the superior technology of separate amplifiers. It brings together the advanced technology cultivated over 12 generations since the series' inception, and is born as an expressive Class AB integrated amplifier with the latest circuitry and the highest grade materials. The preamplifier and power amplifier sections are circuit-separated, and by maximizing the performance and sound quality of each, it achieves the functionality and grade of a separate amplifier. It is also equipped with a "MAIN IN function" that allows the preamplifier and power amplifier sections to be used independently with a single switch. The "AAVA method volume control" of the preamplifier section has been completely redesigned from the circuit configuration. The voltage-current conversion circuit has been made low impedance, and ANCC is used in the current-voltage conversion circuit, resulting in low distortion and low noise, and in actual use, the noise level is reduced by about 20% compared to the E-480. The power amplifier section adopts the circuit configuration of higher-end models, employing the latest Instrumentation Amplifier (SMP) technology to balance the signal path, incorporating the improved 'MCS+' circuit and current feedback amplification circuit. Furthermore, the output circuit has been made low impedance to guarantee a damping factor of 800, improving electrical performance and reliability. The output elements consist of four bipolar transistors driven in parallel per channel, significantly improving the driving capability at low load impedances. Supporting these operations is a powerful power supply section with a high-power capacity toroidal transformer and large-capacity filter capacitors. This results in a powerful soundstage with high output power of 260W/4Ω x 2 and 180W/8Ω x 2.
