Beautiful authentic vintage hand woven Tunisian Kilim tapestry from the mid-20th century, originating from the historic weaving region of Gafsa. This flat-woven textile features highly striking, geometric Berber folk art motifs, including stylized riders on horseback and rows of vibrant desert birds. The central field is framed by a gorgeous turquoise sawtooth border with its original, intact white cotton fringe tassels. While the blocky, geometric figures bear a beautiful visual resemblance to Native American Southwest Navajo pictorial weaving, this is a definitive and rare piece of North African textile history. It works beautifully as a vibrant floor accent rug, bed cover or as a statement bohemian wall hanging.
