Original Ivan Lacković-Croata (1932–2004) portfolio titled Vapaji Iz Dubine (“Cries From the Depths”), issued during the Croatian War of Independence.

This portfolio includes fifteen original signed and numbered graphic prints, each marked 5/30 and bearing the artist’s signature. The prints are accompanied by the original portfolio materials, including the cover sheet titled “Stop the War in Croatia,” exhibition and biographical information, and multilingual essays relating to the project.

The series is identified within the accompanying documentation as Hrvatski Los Desastres (“Croatian Disasters”), a title that references Francisco Goya’s celebrated anti-war cycle Los Desastres de la Guerra. The works were created in response to the conflict in Croatia and present a powerful visual record of war, displacement, suffering, and humanitarian loss through the artist’s distinctive symbolic graphic language.

Each print carries an embossed seal associated with the edition. The portfolio documentation references Zagreb and Bjelovar, Croatia, and includes texts dated 1991–1992.

Condition varies. The outer portfolio cover shows handling wear, creasing, edge wear, and age-related imperfections from storage. The prints themselves remain well preserved overall with original signatures, numbering, and embossed seals present. Each print measures approximately 12.5 x 8.5 inches.
