This is a 3D papier tole work created using a Jean Louis Prevost's botanical study from his series entitled "Collection des Fleurs et des Fruits". J.L. Prevost was a renowned French artist who worked from 1760 - 1810. In the 1960's Patricia Nimocks started a papier tole craze and made kits for crafters. This piece was completed beautifully by Iris Sherfey on March 26, 2022. She used the vintage Prevost kit made by P. Nimocks and an appropriate shadow box frame. The papier tole work gives a 3D effect to Prevost's work and makes it come to life within the green and gold shadow box frame. It measures 11 inches by 14 inches and is 1.25 inches deep. The vintage frame does have some dings and chips (shown in photos). No other flaws are noted by the seller. Thanks for your time and interest!
