Up for your consideration from Kettle Moraine Collectibles is an incredibly scarce, authentic 4-piece set of original Italian Photobustas (Bustine) for Wong Kar-wai’s 1994 masterpiece "Chungking Express." Printed in 1995 for the film's first theatrical debut in Italy under the title "Hong Kong Express," these gorgeous lobby posters feature stunning, high-gloss cinematic stills printed on premium heavy paper stock.
This lot features four distinct, iconic scenes from the movie, including the highly coveted, ultra-rare shot of sexy Tony Leung and Valerie Chow on the bed with the toy airplane.
Condition Notes:
As is standard for vintage Italian theatrical memorabilia, three of the photobustas were originally distributed to cinemas folded and feature a clean, minimal horizontal center fold line. The iconic bed scene photobusta is entirely unfolded and has been safely stored rolled. It does have a slight crease in the middle but not a crisp fold. All four posters exhibit bright, rich, unfaded colors with only minor edge handling and light corner crinkling from authentic theatrical age. They will look magnificent when framed. All corners of the poster are present. One photo looks like one corner is missing, but it is curled under.
These posters were acquired from the living estate of an iconic History Professor from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. He and his family lived and traveled throughout Asia.
