Late Meiji (1890s to 1912) Japanese boxwood seal carved with raised characters on the bottom. The first photo shows the image of printing surface flipped left to right, so the seal can be read. Excellent quality crisp carving of raised characters, old red seal paste in the grooves of the seal. Depression on the side indicates the position of the top of the imprint. Very nice scholar’s object. Height 2.39 inches, base 0.37 x 0.37 inches.
